Mie, Japan.
The kiln where I work is located in Iga, Mie prefecture, in the mountains surrounded by cedar and bamboo. There is a studio with two anagama kilns. The famous pottery region of Shigaraki is situated near Iga, where the bordering mountain ranges intersect, and both utilize clay that has accumulated in ancient Lake Biwa. The surrounding environment and the history of Lake Biwa are also motifs for my works.
仕事場である窯場は、杉と竹に囲まれた山のなか、三重県の伊賀市にあります。穴窯2基とともに工房を構えています。有名な窯業地である信楽は伊賀と国境の山脈がつながる隣接した場所にあり、ともに古い琵琶湖に堆積した陶土です。周囲の環境や琵琶湖の歴史も、作品のモチーフとしています。
